Wall-to-wall carpeting
Broadloom is most common type of wall-to-wall carpet. It is woven up to 15 feet wide to minimize seams. It is either glued to the subfloor or tacked over a pad of jute or rubberized synthetic hair.
Carpet tile is an alternative to wall-to-wall carpeting. These are 18 to 20 inch squares or rectangles that can easily be replaced if there’s any damage to a particular tile or group of tiles. They are ideal for areas prone to heavy traffic, mess or water damage.
